Residential Design Guidelines
Posted on June 25, 2012
The Residential Design Codes (R Codes) is a document produced by the State Government which aims to guide and influence the density and design of residential development in Western Australia. Further information on the R Codes can be found on the Department of Planning’s website at www.planning.wa.gov.au
Residential development is required to meet certain criteria as defined by the R Codes. However in considering development in accordance with the R Codes, the City has the ability to vary some components of the criteria through local planning policies.
The City has the capacity to consider amendments to the streetscape, building design and appearance requirements of the R Codes. This enables the City to more effectively meet City-wide or locational characteristics that may be considered important by the community.
The City is therefore inviting community comment on:
• Residential development as seen from the street; and
• Residential development as seen from neighbouring properties.
Comments received will be collated and presented Council, to consider the design elements to be addressed in the Residential Design Guidelines.
Please provide your comments, including name and address by 4.30pm on Monday 23 July 2012.
Written comments can be submitted in person at the City's Civic Centre or the Max Tulley Information Centre (Galleria Office), by mail to the City of Bayswater PO Box 467 Morley 6942 WA, or by fax to 9272 0665. Alternatively, an online feedback form is available here
Should you have any comments or queries please do not hesitate to contact the City's Planning and Development Services on 9272 0670.
