Recognising our volunteers
Posted on May 29, 2012
National Volunteer Week was celebrated Australia wide last week in support of more than 6 million volunteers throughout Australia.
The City of Bayswater hosted a function for our volunteers in recognition of their outstanding and valuable contribution to the community. The function was also an opportunity to pay tribute to those volunteers reaching mile stones of between five and 30 years' service.
The theme this year for National Volunteer Week was 'Volunteers - Every One counts'. How true is that - every single volunteer makes an important contribution enabling the City to continue to deliver our broad range of services and programs.
On behalf of my fellow Councillors, I want to thank our volunteers for their hard work, dedication and time that they give so freely. The City is very fortunate to have such dedicated and committed volunteers that continue to make the City a great place in which to live.
