Bayswater Waves is committed to providing the most up to date equipment and facilities to enable complete access for people with disabilities, seniors and/or people with restricted movement.
Transport and Parking
Eight ACROD 5.5x3.45 parking bays are located in front of the centre’s entrance.
Drop off and pick up zones are also available as well as an abundance of general parking bays with an overflow parking area available.
Public Transport is available with a bus stop located right outside the centre with regular buses.
Access
Most areas are wheelchair accessible with ramps and electric doors. The front counter is sitting height to ensure the comfort of all patrons. The cafe is accessible via ramp entry and is ideal for wheelchair or pram access.
Change Room Facilities
Six fully equipped disabled and family change rooms are located around the centre.
Pool Access
There are a variety of pool entry methods including level entry, steps, chair lifts and pool hoists. Pool wheelchairs are also available.
The wave pool can be accessed via submersible wheelchairs from the level entry beach. Hydrotherapy pool can be accessed by a chair hoist and wide steps with handrails on either side. The 25m indoor pool can be accessed by a sling hoist as well as wide steps with handrails. The outdoor 50m pool can be accessed by steps, ladder and sling hoist.
Health Club
The Health Club provides all fitness equipment and caters for all levels of fitness and ability. The circuit room is specially designed for easy access with state of the art equipment allowing intensity to be changed by the push of a button.
Carers
Free access to all sections of Bayswater Waves is provided to carers to promote the use of all the facilities.
For Seniors
There are a variety of services provided for seniors at the centre. Walking lanes are available in the 30oC 25m pool, physio groups, and especially tailored group fitness classes in the pool (Aqua Nauts) and in the Health Club (Silver Sneakers). Please refer to City of Bayswater Seniors section for all the options available.
Community Groups
There are a variety of organisations that operate through the centre. Groups operating from the pool include: Community Physio, Central Aquatic Swimming Club for seniors, GM Physio and Maylands Physio. Operating from the Health club are Heart Rehabilitation and the Cancer Council. If you have a group that you wish to run through the centre, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
