The Philosophy of our Association
We believe that, through play, children explore and enjoy the physical, social, emotional and intellectual world around them. To help children in this journey we aim to:
• provide a secure and stimulating environment that offers fun and encouragement;
• encourage positive self-esteem and provide a balance between passive and active play;
• promote the health and safety needs of children, staff and parents;
• provide a happy place where children can grow at their own pace;
• promote the welfare and care of children within the neighbouring community;
• provide quality care geared to the needs of the community;
• provide a secure, loving and stimulating environment in which the individual developmental needs of each child are met;
• provide child care that is culturally relevant;
• provide continuity of care between the home and the centre environments;
• have a community focus that will aid the development of neighbourhood networks;
• promote parent and community participation and involvement to ensure the relevance and acceptability of the service to the community;
• have a close liaison with other services within the community;
• have the flexibility to meet the changing child care needs of the community;
• create an environment in which individual staff and team potential can be developed.
