| Blue Ribbon Clubs (BR) is an incentive-based accreditation scheme for sporting clubs. The program addresses all aspects of what it means to be a “healthy club”. Clubs are assessed, educated and practice a wide range of good club management areas from alcohol management and health promotion, through to future budgeting and planning, strong governance and club administration. Successful clubs will be eligible for a wide range of both tangible and non-tangible benefits. |

Blue Ribbon Club Information
Clubs will need to meet a large checklist of areas which, over the course of a year, will see them educated through information, workshops, seminars, and meetings.
Why become a Blue Ribbon Club?
The theory behind this program is to develop healthy, sustainable, community-oriented clubs, through a generic tool (Blue Ribbon). Giving clubs both tangible and non-tangible benefits makes the program more appealing to clubs. Successful clubs would receive a “leg-up” in regards to obtaining funding/sponsorship etc. Organisations will associate a level of professionalism with the Blue Ribbon emblem, as it shows these clubs plan and budget for the future, are strong community clubs and have policies in place to achieve goals. Clubs who are eligible will include the emblem on their letter/application, as well as receive signage. Blue Ribbon Clubs will able to use their status as leverage, in sponsorship, funding and membership.
The outcome? By assisting and promoting clubs to deveolp, grow and strive to succeed, we create clubs who are better-equipped to provide quality opportunites to the community, creating stronger, healthier, happier and safer communities.
How does the program work?
When clubs have completed all the sections in the Blue Ribbon Program they fill out an online survey and will receive a visit from the Blue Ribbon Officer. The Officer will confirm that all aspects of program have been adequately completed by the club. The club will then go into the running for annual prizes and major prize.
Points System – Clubs receive points per section completed (see points sheet attached).
Assistance – Clubs will be educated through workshops and provided with resources and templates for plans etc... individual meetings can be organised as each club requests.
