Olive Tree House situated in Morley is a purpose built meeting place for older people and their carers. It provides members with an opportunity to participate in a range of social and recreational activities in a stimulating and safe environment.
The service provides social support where group relationships and friendships are formed. The centre is an opportunity for carers to enjoy respite with knowledge their family loved one is receiving professional nurturing support. A Dementia specific program is also offered on Fridays, providing modified activities to stimulate senses . Olive Tree House has a Sensory garden including interactive raised garden beds, urban wall art, water feature and BBQ area.
Olive Tree House provides activities which are based on the person centred approach and encourages independence and connections to the community. Activities include:
• Craft, music and dance
• Visits to local venues
• Scenic drives, discussion
• Computer technology and social network
• Pamper sessions; and
• Many other activities
Fees include transport to and from the Centre, entry to venues, lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea.
Acceptance is based on service availability, being a resident of the City of Bayswater and an assessment to determine eligibility.
