Playgrounds 

The City of Bayswater has over 100 playgrounds within its parks and reserves. The majority of the City's playgrounds are local, district or regional level play areas and feature equipment such as swings, slides, combination units and spring riders. The City of Bayswater offers 4 regional level playgrounds that are situated in central hubs and cater for all ages and abilities.

The 4 regional level playgrounds are:

Bert Wright Park
Bert Wright Park is located within the central hub of Bayswater and is perfect for a day out with the family with picnic tables/seating, barbecue facilities, basketball/soccer kick up wall, large grassed areas and public toilets. Bert Wright Park also has a very exciting nature based playground that will excite every kid's imagination with a variety of climbing frames, water creek, and sand pits.

Bardon Park
This large nature based playground is nestled within the beautiful grounds of Bardon Park overlooking the Swan River in Maylands. The playground offers various methods of play including climbing, swinging and sand play. Bardon Park offers something for everyone with wide pathways, perfect for walks or bike rides, picnic and barbeque facilities, bench seating and amazing views of the river.

Riverside Gardens
Riverside Gardens caters for the whole family with picnic tables/seating, barbecue facilities, large grassed areas and public toilets. This exciting park features a fenced in playground which includes a large combination unit, rubber soft fall, shade sails and is suitable for ages between 3 to 13 years.

Robert Thompson Reserve
Robert Thompson Reserve has become very popular with a fully enclosed playground and overhead shade sails. This exciting playground grabs the imagination with fossil rocks just waiting to be discovered, and a fire engine to climb and explore.
In addition to the playground, Robert Thompson Reserve also boasts large grassed areas, for kicking a ball with the kids and wide pathways perfect for bike riding, scooters, pram and wheelchairs.

 Playground Replacement and Upgrades

The City of Bayswater has a comprehensive annual playground replacement program based on a 15 year cycle. Every three years the City commissions an independent audit of all of its playgrounds, which ensures playgrounds meet Australian Standards and schedules playgrounds due for replacement.

Parks and Reserve Maintenance

Accredited City of Bayswater staffs inspect the playgrounds on a regular basis and maintain the city's parks and reserves. The maintenance of the city's parks and reserve are conducted on a routine maintenance program to ensure they are safe for the community.
