School Swimming Lessons
Bayswater Waves offers school swimming programs that can be catered to suit your school’s needs, from lesson times to class sizes. A benefit of the Bayswater Waves programs is the cost, which is both economical and service-driven. We have a specially-designed teaching platform to aid in the confidence of junior primary students, priority access to indoor pool space and small class sizes.
Our parent and baby program for five-month-olds to three-year-olds is conducted in the hydrotherapy pool, heated to between 33-34°C to ensure an optimum teaching environment for young children. Classes focus on water familiarisation, including the introduction of basic skills and water safety skills. At the same time, your baby will grow in confidence by participating in activities that are both enjoyable and safe. Classes run from Monday to Sunday and are 30 minutes in duration.
Pre-school and school-aged program
Our pre-school (3 to 6-year-olds) and school-aged (6 years+) classes are specifically designed to develop children’s strokes, as well as water safety skills. Our swimming classes are conducted in the indoor swimming pool, heated to between 30-31.5°C all year round. This protects students from the harshness of the sun and other weather conditions.
Our school-aged program is based on one designed by the Royal Life Saving Society. Our classes are 30 minutes each, increasing to 40 minutes for stage 10 and higher. The swim school currently offers stages 1 through to 15.
Adult Swimming Lessons
Our adult classes are available for beginners and intermediate swimmers. These 50-minute classes are held in the indoor 25m pool and are a good way to learn and develop new skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Teenage Swimming Lessons
Our Teenage lessons are suitable for students between 12 & 16 years old. These are 40minute lessons held in the indoor 25m pool and are a good opportunity to develop confidence in the water and develop swimming strokes.
Junior Development Squad
The Junior Development Squad provides swimmers with an introduction to training and competitive swimming. Our aims are to improve stroke technique, endurance and speed in an enjoyable environment. The squad provides the opportunity to improve, stroke technique, endurance and speed.
All swimmers should be a stage 6 and above.
Squads are Monday, Wednesday and/or Fridays from 4:15pm - 5:30pm
The swim school also offers a range of private and one-on-one lessons for children, adults or people with special needs. These can be arranged on a term basis or can be tailored to an individual's requirements.
