An engaging new look for consultation site

Posted on July 28, 2017

The City of Bayswater's online community consultation site, Engage Bayswater, has been given a makeover to make it easier for ratepayers and residents to use and have their say.

Mayor Barry McKenna said Engage Bayswater was a great tool for providing the community with opportunities to provide feedback on projects, programs and initiatives being taken forward by the City.

"The new look for the site means it's cleaner, quicker and simpler to navigate for our users, which means it is easier to comment and share your ideas," he said.

"Having an online engagement portal that is effective and convenient for our community is really important.

"The feedback we receive helps to inform our decision making and ensures we have the opportunity to listen to the voice of our customers when we look at allocating resources."

The Engage Bayswater site was introduced as part of the City of Bayswater's community engagement framework, called Let's Talk, which was adopted by Council in 2016 to improve consultation with ratepayers, residents, businesses and other stakeholders.

"The discussion we undertook with the community in developing the engagement framework highlighted the need to use a variety of methods for consultation, and having an effective online portal as an option was regarded as really important," Mayor McKenna said.

"The new look Engage Bayswater website will help us to be even more responsive to our community's needs and represents part of our ongoing commitment to improve how we go about engaging with all those within our City."
