The City of Bayswater is calling for entries for its 2017 Art Award and Exhibition.
Entries open on August 11 and as part of the awards, local and metropolitan artists will have the chance to compete for prizes valued at over $10,000.
Entries can be submitted in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, water colour, pastel, printmaking, gouache, charcoal, pencil and sculpture (3D works).
Last year was the first year the awards featured a sculpture section and it was so popular that it will be part of the awards again this year.
Mayor Barry Mckenna urged local artists to take part.
"We have so many talented artists in the City and it's great to see their work come together in one space at The Rise," Mayor McKenna said.
"We are very keen to support local artists; the City has spent much of this year installing public art as part of our Community Art Grants program.
"As an event for the community it's also wonderful, you can come and vote for your favourite piece and maybe even purchase it for your collection?
"I'm looking forward to seeing the entries again this year - the calibre of entries gets stronger every year."
All entries to the Art Awards and Exhibition must have been created no less than 12 months prior to the closing date - September 14, 2017 - and must not have been previously exhibited.
The exhibition will run this year from November 17 to December 1 at The RISE in Maylands.
