THE City of Bayswater is proud to bring our residents the popular Sound Overload Battle of the Bands Competition for the fourth year in a row which will be held during the National Youth Week in April.
The competition is for young people from the ages of 12 to 25 who can showcase their talents through any musical genre.
Events like these give young musicians from around Perth a chance to build their skills, compete and showcase their talents to their peers, industry professionals and the wider community.
A total prize package of $5,000 will include three days of recording time and a professional photo-shoot for the winning band. There is also a prize for the Winning High School entry for bands with members aged 12-17 years.
The heat will take place on Sunday, April 6 from 2 - 4pm. While the finals will be held on Saturday, April 12 from 1:30 - 4pm. Venues will be announced shortly.
Free music workshops are being run in the lead up to the event.
The battle is organised by the City of Bayswater’s Youth Advisory Committee and sponsored by the X Press Magazine and Department of Local Government and Communities.
Applications close on Friday, 21 March 2014 at 5pm.
