Protecting our Urban Bushland

Protecting our Urban Bushland

The City has been working hard over the past few years to enhance its biodiversity wildlife corridors which provide urban habitats for local flora and fauna.

This year the corridors were planted with 300 native trees to support the wildlife that inhabits them as part of our annual tree planting program.

They are an important part of the City's biodiversity plan and this year's tree planting will help to grow future habitat to support resilient and sustainable fauna populations in the City of Bayswater.

The City's Urban Forest Strategy also identified the need to design and implement this 10 year plan; during community consultation our residents told us that we should plant more native trees in the corridors to support animals such as Carnaby's Black Cockatoos nesting.

This is another great example of how the City is implementing our community's vision to conserve and manage our environment for future generations.
