Bayswater residents are being encouraged to light up their houses with festive flair as part of the City of Bayswater's Christmas Lights Competition.
Several streets in the City are well known for their Christmas lights including houses in Marriott Way in Morley and Armstrong Way in Noranda.
The competition is open to all residents and has cash prizes of $200 for the winner and $100 for the runner up.
City of Bayswater Mayor Barry McKenna said the competition encouraged the community to get into the festive spirit.
"It's hard to believe, but Christmas is just around the corner," Mayor McKenna said.
"Christmas lights have become a wonderful tradition in Australia and the City of Bayswater is encouraging its residents to get into the festive spirit and have some fun decorating their houses.
"This is a great chance for families to work together to make their streets look fantastic over the festive season and win good cash prizes.
"We hope that people will make their houses as merry and bright as possible."
Residents can enter by emailing a photo of their lights or their neighbours (with their permission of course) to firstname.lastname@example.org
Entries for the competition close on Friday, December 16.
