Christmas is fast approaching and with it comes some wonderful time off with family and friends, lots of presents and plentiful food and drinks to be shared.
So now seems a pertinent time to remind our residents and ratepayers of which bins to use for recycling over the Festive Season.
The City of Bayswater has a three bin system. The red top bin is for general waste, while the yellow top bin is for recycling and the green top bin is for green waste.Once the kids have finished their unwrapping frenzy on Christmas morning, the red top bins can take all of your used Christmas wrap, plus any bubble wrap, foam boxes, plastic bags, polystyrene and waxed paper.
And once Christmas lunch is done, you can place all of your glass bottles and jars, milk and juice cartons, plastic bottles, containers, cans and empty aerosol cans in the yellow top bin.
To make understanding what can and can't go in to your bins even easier this Christmas, the City has produced two stickers which can be placed on your green and yellow top bins. Stickers and information on recycling in the City of Bayswater can be obtained from the Civic Centre at 61 Broun Avenue, Morley or by visiting the City's website at www.bayswater.wa.gov.au/environment/waste-and-recycling.
