New look pool making a splash

Posted on February 02, 2018
Bayswater Wave's 50 metre outdoor pool has reopened following major refurbishment work to the pool and spectator stand.

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said he was impressed by how good the pool was looking following the upgrade.

"The refurbishment represents part of the City of Bayswater's commitment to invest $10 million over ten years to upgrade Bayswater Waves," Mayor Bull said.

"Council's investment means that the Bayswater Waves will remain as a popular aquatic destination for families and will continue to serve our community well in the years to come."

Mayor Bull said the City would be celebrating the reopening on Sunday, 18th February when the Bayswater Waves will host the annual Baysie Waves Fest.

"The Fest is a great opportunity for families to get along and rediscover what Bayswater Waves has to offer now the pool is back in operation."

In addition to the 50 metre pool, other facilities on offer at the Bayswater Waves Aquatic Centre include a wave pool, twisting water slide, gymnasium, sauna, whirlpool and much more.

"Refurbishing the 50 metre pool was a big and complex job and I would like to thank the Bayswater Waves' customers for their patience and understanding while the work was underway.

"I am sure they will agree the result has been worth the wait. The water looks crystal clear and really inviting."
