This year's Baysie Waves Fest promises to be a real hit as the City reopens the Bayswater Waves' newly renovated 50m pool and grandstand in time for the event.
To be held on Sunday February 18 from 10am to 6pm, the aptly named event combines the City's Family Fun Day and Youth Fest to create an experience that appeals to families and young people alike.
City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said with the re-opening of the new look 50 metre outdoor pool this year's event promises to be something really special.
"I encourage everyone to get along and enjoy this fantastic event."
"From live music to family entertainment there will be something for everyone."
Little ones will be transformed into butterflies or a superheroes by face painters, jump for joy on bouncy castles, pat animals or ride a pony. While older kids can enjoy a chill out area with soundproof headphones or spend time in a game vault. They can also climb a giant wall or slide down a waterslide.
Mayor Bull said he was delighted by the plethora of musical talent scheduled to appear at the Baysie Waves Fest.
"Local band Young Robin, who were recently unearthed by Triple J, are sure to be a huge hit. The band is pumped to be playing at the event and is looking forward to showcasing their new songs."
Another talented local artist performing on the day is Chloe Buchanan.
Crepe and dumpling food trucks and the newly opened Bayswater Waves Cafe will be on hand to supply tasty treats throughout the day.
At just $2 for entry this all ages event promises to be an occasion not to be missed.
