The Bayswater Library is back and looking better than ever after a $156,000 refurbishment. The long-awaited facelift includes a colourful new children's library, modern furnishings, upgraded computer facilities, and fresh paint and flooring throughout. The whole space is now brighter, more functional and up-to-date with the needs of modern library users.
Libraries have become about so much more than just books – we're seeing the increasing importance of libraries as the central hubs of our community. The Bayswater Library is a place where everyone is welcome to participate in programs and activities, become part of a reading club or enjoy free access public computers and Wi-Fi. The overwhelming popularity of our free early literacy activities such as Storytime and Rhymetime shows how important these services are to our community.
If you haven't visited the Bayswater Library since the upgrade and need an excuse to do so, the City is offering a range of free family-friendly activities to celebrate. The Sparkles and Hamish Magic Show is happening on Monday 11 June followed by a Teddy Bears Picnic on Friday 15 June. More information about these activities can be found on the City's website
