Councillor Column - Funding boost for local projects

Posted on July 31, 2018

Are you a community group looking for a contribution towards a fabulous community project? Then why not apply for funding as part of the City’s new ‘Better Bayswater’ Grant. Ideas big and small will be considered so long as they benefit the community and align with the City’s Strategic Community Plan.

Applications open from Wednesday 1 August and are open to community groups and non-for-profit organisations. Funding of up to $5,000 per project is available with matched funding of 50 percent required by applicants.

Your idea could be anything from an outdoor movie night to an environmental initiative, cultural celebration or even a community fitness program – if it's something that will 'better Bayswater', it will be considered for funding. Partnerships between multiple community groups are encouraged as are projects that support local businesses.

Applications are due by 4pm on Monday 10 September 2018, so don't delay! Visit the City's website to download an application form. I look forward to seeing some of the exciting initiatives proposed by our community.
