Morley is set for an incredible night of music under the stars as the City hosts it's first-ever performance by Perth Symphony Orchestra.
Taking place on Saturday evening, 2 February at Pat O'Hara Reserve, Romance Under the Stars is a free event featuring the music of pop and rock legends. Perth Symphony Orchestra and soloists Justin Burford (End of Fashion) and Paula Parore (AViiDA) will perform music from across genres, including hits from INXS, Pharrell Williams, Adele and U2.
Deputy Mayor Chris Cornish said the City was proud to host an event with a difference in Morley this summer.
"Perth Symphony Orchestra is known as 'the orchestra that breaks the rules', so don't expect your average symphony. This high-energy performance will have you tapping your feet and singing along to songs you know and love.
"The City is proud to bring an event of this calibre to Morley, free of charge, for the community to enjoy.
"Without doubt Romance Under the Stars will be one of the biggest and most exciting events we've held in Morley.
"I encourage you to invite your friends and family, bring a picnic rug and enjoy the relaxed summer atmosphere. It will also be an ideal evening to visit one of the many fantastic local restaurants at Coventry Village and surrounds."
Perth Symphony Founder and CEO Bourby Webster said the orchestra was looking forward to performing in the City of Bayswater.
“Our mission is music for everyone, and we want to break down any barriers people may have to experiencing orchestral music.
We are excited to bring an ensemble of 15 musicians to the people of Morley ‘in their own backyards’!”
The City encourages attendees to walk, ride or catch public transport to Romance Under the Stars. Very limited parking will be available on the oval. More information about this event can be found on the City of Bayswater Facebook page www.facebook.com/bayswatercity.
