Ribbons of Blue is a state-wide environmental education program delivered by the Swan River Trust in the Swan Canning Catchment.
The program uses water quality monitoring and catchment management activities as tools to focus learning and develop understanding, while building a sense of environmental, social and civic responsibility for the shared management of local environments.
The Swan Canning Catchment Ribbons of Blue program is available to all schools in the Swan Canning Catchment, working with students from kindergarten to year 12.
Ribbons of Blue can be directly linked to the curriculum and integrated across all learning areas for individual teachers or across the whole school. Resource materials and staff are available to assist and support teachers.
Over the last three years, the Swan River Trust and City of Bayswater has held catchment activities days for school kids to learn about the environment and catchments in the City of Bayswater as part of this program.
