The City of Bayswater is progressing through the Water CampaignTM – a sustainability program developed by the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) and the Federal Government, aimed at providing local governments with a framework and structured approach to actively assess and manage their water resources.
The campaign is broken down into five milestones:
||Performing a scheme water consumption inventory over two financial years for council and community sectors. Conducting a review of council’s water quality management and how it affects the community's behaviour towards water quality in the region. Identifying priority areas of concern.|
||Setting four Water CampaignTM goals to guide council's progress through the campaign.|
||Developing a water action plan for both the corporate and community sectors.|
||Implementing high-priority actions in the water action plan.|
||Evaluating the success of the water action plan and progress towards the goals.|
The EMRC is assisting the City of Bayswater in working through the milestones by liaising with the ICLEI, Water Corporation and other external organisations.
