Water Campaign

The City of Bayswater is progressing through the Water CampaignTM – a sustainability program developed by the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) and the Federal Government, aimed at providing local governments with a framework and structured approach to actively assess and manage their water resources.

The campaign is broken down into five milestones:

Milestone Outcome(s)
Milestone 1 Performing a scheme water consumption inventory over two financial years for council and community sectors. Conducting a review of council’s water quality management and how it affects the community's behaviour towards water quality in the region. Identifying priority areas of concern.
Milestone 2 Setting four Water CampaignTM goals to guide council's progress through the campaign.
Milestone 3 Developing a water action plan for both the corporate and community sectors.
Milestone 4 Implementing high-priority actions in the water action plan.
Milestone 5 Evaluating the success of the water action plan and progress towards the goals.

The EMRC is assisting the City of Bayswater in working through the milestones by liaising with the ICLEI, Water Corporation and other external organisations.
