Street Trees

The City of Bayswater is responsible for the planting and maintenance of street trees throughout the City and any requests for new pruning or removal of street trees must be forwarded to the City.

Requests for street trees are listed and planting is carried out in winter months only, when soil conditions are damp, usually around July/August. Requests should be made no later than April 30 for planting to be done that year. Tree species are usually selected to suit the environment and existing streetscape and to avoid interference with above and below ground public utilities.

You are asked to water new verge trees for at least the first three summers, to ensure the best chance of survival. You are not permitted to prune, move or remove a street tree. Any requests for moving a young verge tree as a result of a new or wider crossover, are done by the City to avoid damage to underground utilities.
