Trees on Private Property

Trees provide important services in the urban environment and a certain amount of nuisance from them should be tolerated. Roots and branches encroaching onto your property can be trimmed back to the boundary by you with your neighbour’s permission. It is important to maintain a good relationship with your neighbours and Legal Aid provide information on how to go about dealing with a neighbour’s tree.
