Christmas Banner Competition

Submissions for the 2022 City of Bayswater Christmas Banner Competition are now open!

About the competition

All primary school-children within the City of Bayswater are invited to enter the City of Bayswater Christmas Banner Competition. Children are asked to design a Christmas-themed poster. The winning artworks will be professionally enlarged and printed onto street banners which will be displayed in the Morley, Bayswater and Maylands town centres from December 2022 to early January 2023. The competition is now a biennial event, meaning the winning banners will again be displayed in the town centres in December 2023 to early January 2024. The top two entries will also be made into Christmas cards.

Helpful tips

Christmas banners are erected on top of street poles that make pictures and lettering look small from the ground. Students are encouraged to use strong, bright colours with bold lettering that stands out. The judges will consider creativity, use of colour, visibility and other criteria when selecting the winning artworks.
