OVERVIEW
From 7 February to 2 March, Riverside Gardens will shine after dark with Karla Bidi, a world-first community experience that will see large beacons of light illuminate a pathway along the Swan River (Derbarl Yerrigan) from the hills to the sea. Translating to ‘fire trail’, Karla Bidi is a unique blend of light sculpture and soundscape inspired by the Noongar tradition of lighting fires to greet and guide visitors.
Karla Bidi is your invitation to Perth Festival. No tickets, no theatre seats – just the sky and the beautiful riverbank. Witness these capticating beacons from afar or journey down to the water's edge and immerse yourself in Noongar culture.
