City of Bayswater Avon Descent Finish Line Festival 2026

OVERVIEW

Join support crews and spectators in welcoming competitors over the finish line of the 2026 Avon Descent.

Celebrate competitors of the epic 124km journey down the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River) and enjoy a sensational day of free, family friendly entertainment including:

• Live music with Ruby Miguel
• Thrilling carnival rides
• Inflatable Outback Maze
• Interactive RAC Rescue Experience
• Animal encounters with WA Birds of Prey and Critters Up Close
• Giant bubbles
• Sensory play
• Toddler zone
• Quiet zone presented by the City of Bayswater Youth Advisory Council (YAC)
• Inflatable games
• Face painting.

Accessibility

A reserved seating area in front of the stage will be allocated for those requiring access to this space. The stage performances will be AUSLAN interpreted.

The event is held on a grassed area with paved pathways around the outside of the ovals.

ACROD parking will be available at the car park at the end of Milne Street.

Parking

Parking will be available at Riverside Gardens, with access from Milne Street off Guildford Road.

Additional bike rack parking will be available at the event.

Event Information

Dogs are welcome, however they must be on lead in all areas of Riverside Gardens West during the event.

The City is working with GO2CUP and vendors to eliminate single-use plastic at this event. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles to fill at the water station and make use of their own reusable containers and cups.
