  • OVERVIEW

Come along for a stimulating evening as we welcome award winning author Holden Sheppard who will sit down with journalist and presenter Chenée Marrapodi to share insights into his new novel for adults, Yeah the Boys, a sequel to his critically acclaimed Invisible Boys .

Holden’s latest work dives deep into the complexities of masculinity, mateship, and the pressures young men face in a world that doesn’t always make space for vulnerability. With his trademark honesty and grit, he unpacks the emotional terrain behind the story, the real‑world issues that inspired it, and why these conversations matter now more than ever.

Expect a candid, thought‑provoking, and at times humorous discussion between two dynamic storytellers as they explore what it really means to be a boy—and a man—in contemporary Australia.

Holden’s first two young adult novels, Invisible Boys and The Brink, have each won multiple awards, cementing him as one of Australia’s most compelling contemporary voices. Invisible Boys has also been adapted into a hit TV drama, recently nominated for the prestigious Peabody Award. His last adult novel, King of Dirt, continues his bold exploration of identity, masculinity, and the messy, heartfelt realities of growing up.

Chenée Marrapodi is a journalist and the author of the middle grade novels One Wrong Turn and Breaking Pointe.

    About Yeah the Boys
