With school holidays on the horizon, there's plenty happening in Perth's inner east to keep kids busy. Environment House has two hands-on sustainability workshops to choose from, and City's popular Night Stalk is back at Lightning Swamp.

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull encouraged local families to take advantage of the free and low-cost programs on offer.

"Autumn is a great time of year to get the kids out of the house and interacting with nature.

"On the first weekend of the holidays, we've got a Night Stalk happening at Lightning Swamp. Presented in partnership with Nearer to Nature, this popular activity is great for curious kids with an interest in native animals.

"As always, there's plenty happening at Environment House, with a hands-on Insect Hotel Workshop for ages 8 to 12  and a Flower Press Workshop for 7 to 12 year olds.

"The City is proud to partner with Environment House to bring sustainability programs like these, and many more, to the local community."
