Do you live on the most sustainable street in the City of Bayswater?

For the first time, the City is encouraging neighbours to work together for their chance to be crowned Bayswater’s Most Sustainable Street. We’re looking for streets with waterwise gardens, rainwater tanks, solar panels, compost bins or even just great recycling habits. Not every house on your street needs to participate—but the more the better.

This is something I am particularly passionate about, having worked with my neighbours to make our own street more sustainable. It's been a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and share ideas about waste, recycling and reusing, composting, and worm farms. We even share worms and food scraps with our neighbours.

The City's winning street will proudly display a 'Most Sustainable Street' sign, and receive $500 to spend on sustainability initiatives. The money could be used to purchase plants to share, worm farms or to run an environmental workshop in the neighbourhood.

It’s really easy to get involved, just download a nomination form at bayswater.wa.gov.au or pick up a paper copy at the City of Bayswater Civic Centre.

Good luck and may the most sustainable street win!
