A team of nine dedicated volunteers are set to get to work this June as the City of Bayswater’s Age Friendly Ambassador Program commences.

After attending a meet and greet, training day and a series of warm up events over recent months, the team will hold their first monthly meeting and tour the City’s two community centres on Thursday 6 June.

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said the program aims to help the City become a better place for local people over 50.

“The ambassadors are here to connect our residents with practical information and services, and to give them a voice on community issues.

“The program is part of our wider Age Friendly Strategy, helping us to meet the needs of over 50’s in our community.

“Whether you’re looking to get active, join a social group, or find out about what’s happening near you, your local Age Friendly Ambassador can help.”

To get in touch with an Age Friendly Ambassador, email ambassador@bayswater.wa.gov.au or call 9270 4107.
