More for Morley

Councillor Column

Morley is one of the state's strategic metropolitan centres and I am keen to see businesses in the town centre continue to thrive. From retail and dining to wholesale and manufacturing, Morley is home to a diverse range of shops and services.

One of the ways the City is supporting these local businesses is by making it easier for customers to access them. This means better parking options, creating a more walkable town centre, and improving connections between commercial areas.

I'm pleased to let you know about some recent improvements we've been working on:

  • New pedestrian ramps along Progress Street mean you can now walk from Coventry Village to Morley Galleria without leaving the path network.
  • A new footpath will soon connect Bookham and Russell Street, opening nearby businesses up to the rest of the town centre and Russell Street Park.
  • Zebra crossings, upgraded street lights and bicycle ramps have made it easier to cross the Walter, Old Collier, and Wellington Road intersection.
  • The introduction of more public art around the town centre has created vibrancy and points of interest for visitors to Morley.

These are just some of the ways the City is bringing more to Morley. Watch this space for more improvements to come.
