Community projects flourish with City grants
Mar 13 2019

The Buddha’s Light International Association of Western Australia is set to host Harmonious New Year Celebrations this March thanks to the City of Bayswater’s Better Bayswater grants.

Awarded to local community groups or non-for-profit organisations whose projects align with the City’s Strategic Community Plan, the grants offer funding of up to $5,000 per project with matched funding required by applicants.

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said the grants aimed to create an avenue for groups or organisations with positive ideas to be able to see those through.

“The Buddha’s Light International Association of Western Australia successfully applied for a Better Bayswater grant in 2018, resulting in funding of $4,440 towards their Harmony Week: Harmonious New Year celebrations.

“We believe that creating a brighter future for everyone in our community requires collaboration between both the City and its community members, which is why we’re providing the financial support needed to make this happen.

“The first round of the 2019 Better Bayswater grants is now open and will close on March 31, I really encourage anyone with an idea to create positive change in our City to apply.”
