Lights bring new life to City’s Reserve
The City of Bayswater’s Frank Drago Reserve is now ready to host National Premier League soccer games.
The City of Bayswater’s Frank Drago Reserve is now ready to host National Premier League soccer games with the addition of four new national league standard floodlights completed earlier this year.
The $300,000 project has been made possible with funding from the Australian Government, Western Australian Government and the City of Bayswater.
City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said that the upgrade would create a space for budding soccer players to build their skills.
“The Bayswater City Soccer Club will now be able to host pre-season night series, mid-week night, twilight and knockout-final soccer games throughout the year.
“The entire community will also be able to make use of the reserve after dark, allowing everything from sports training to dog walking to take place.
Bayswater City Soccer Club President Greg D’Orazio said that the installation of these lights means much more than just being able to host night fixtures.
“This will give our club the opportunity to increase revenue streams, engage local residents and become a truly community based club.
“We would like to thank all tiers of Government for their contributions, especially the City of Bayswater for coordinating and overseeing the process from start to finish.”
