A panel of celebrated West Australian authors and comedians will be coming together to celebrate National Library and Information Week with the City of Bayswater this May.

Jon Doust, Annabel Smith, Norman Jorgensen, David Whish-Wilson and Bruce Russell will be sharing anecdotes from their careers and discussing the impact of truth, integrity and knowledge on writing at an event to be held at Maylands Library from 6pm – 7.30pm on Thursday 23 May.

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said that the event will be a chance for attendees to get a rare insight into life as an author.

“The theme of this year’s Library and Information Week ‘truth, integrity and knowledge’ is relevant in all writing, even fiction. Particularly now, in an age where we have the ability to fact check anything we read right there on the spot.

“This free event is a great opportunity to learn all about writing as a hobby or in a professional sense, or just have a fun evening out listening to these incredible authors share some of their experiences.”

Library and Information week runs from Monday 20 May – Friday 24 May nationally.

Registrations are essental.
