The 2019 Plants to Residents program has now ended.

$10,000 worth of native plants are now ready to be planted in the gardens of local residents as part of City of Bayswater and Enviro House’s annual Native Plants to Residents program.

The trees, bushes and ground cover plants, donated by the City of Bayswater, can be purchased in groups of up to ten for the heavily discounted price of a $4 donation to Enviro House.

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said the program is all about getting people out in their gardens, helping to create a greener city.

“There are great benefits associated with having greenery where you live, and what better choice for your garden than water-wise, low maintenance plants like natives.

“This year, Enviro House are also running a photo competition, so you can send in pictures of your new gardens and go in the running to win $50 Enviro House vouchers. There’s categories for all types of gardens, from front or back yard gardens through to verge gardens and apartment/ unit complex shared gardens.

“The Native Plants to Residents program is all part of the City of Bayswater’s plan to green our City, and we’d like to thank everyone at Enviro House for continually helping us to do just that.”

Plants can be collected from Enviro House, King William St, Bayswater from now until they’ve run out.

To enter the photo competition, email your photos along with your name, phone number and category of choice to projects@envirohouse.org.au
