City celebrates Seniors Week
Oct 10 2019

Registrations are now open for local seniors to take part in a series of free workshops this November, as part of the City of Bayswater’s WA Seniors Week celebrations.

Taking place from November 10 – 17, Seniors Week is a chance to say thank you for the contributions of people aged over 65 throughout Western Australia.

City of Bayswater CEO Andrew Brien said the City is proud to be home to so many outstanding seniors.

“Our older residents continue to give so much back to their communities each year. Be it through our Aged Friendly Ambassador program, volunteering with the City or donating their time and knowledge to a huge range of groups and clubs, the list goes on.

“Seniors Week is our opportunity to say that this doesn’t go unnoticed and to show our appreciation for everything seniors do and have done for the entire Bayswater community. We’re hosting a free composting workshop, garden party morning tea, estates and will planning information session, bonsai workshop and age friendly space celebration day open to all seniors in our community.

“Growing older certainly doesn’t mean slowing down. This Seniors Week is the perfect chance to celebrate, meet like-minded people, learn a new skill and have some fun.”
