New skate and bike advisory committee positions open to residents
Aug 03 2020

The newly re-established committee will play an important role in providing feedback to the City around the future projects around youth activities, skateboarding, BMX and more.

Nominations are now open for six community representatives to join the group to act as key stakeholders for upcoming projects, inlcuding consultation on the State Government's Metronet project for Morley Station.

As part of this project, the existing Wotton Reserve Skate Park is proposed to be relocated to make way for the new Morley Train Station.

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said the committee was a great opportunity for invested residents to represent the community and have a say on skate and bike projects.

"It's wonderful to have so many passionate people in our community who are keen to work with the City and be involved in the process for new designs or locations for skate and bike projects," Cr Bull said.

"Having grown up skateboarding myself, I can appreciate how important public facilities and parks like these are to young adults and families.

"We are very glad to re-establish this committee and work alongside the community and State Government on upcoming projects, including the relocation of Wotton Reserve Skate Park."

Applications for the committee can be submitted online here. Submissions close on Thursday, August 13 at 4pm.
