Planter boxes lining Maylands Eighth Avenue are now adorned with works by local artist Rosalyn Anderson, as part of the City of Bayswater’s Art on Eighth project.

Part of the City’s Place Activation Plan for the Maylands Town Centre, Art on Eighth has been showcasing the work of a series of local artists since 2018.

Combining traditional mediums and photography, Anderson’s art aims to capture the fleeting, yet chaotic nature of life and her own personal history.

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said providing a platform for local artists work to shine is a privilege for the City.

“Maylands has become known as one of the creative hubs of the inner east, making this exciting project a perfect fit for the area.

“Art is an incredibly important part of our community - providing an outlet for creativity, a catalyst for thought and breathing yet more life and colour into our streets.

“Each artist featured as part of the Art on Eighth Project has a different story to tell. I encourage everyone in our community to pay Maylands a visit and check out the works over a coffee from one of the many great cafes in the area.”
