Morley is set for an Aussie rock concert with a difference as Perth Symphony Orchestra return to Pat O’Hara Reserve for the second year. Breaking the boundaries of traditional symphony, the orchestra will perform hits from the likes of AC/DC, Crowded House, Gotye and Tame Impala.

Sponsored by Lotterywest, Aussie Rock with Perth Symphony Orchestra will take place on Saturday evening, 1 February, and is free for all ages to attend.

Deputy Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said the event was set to be Morley’s biggest yet.

“After the overwhelming success of last year’s concert, the City was keen to invite Perth Symphony Orchestra back to Morley this summer.

“This will not be your average symphony. Expect high-energy tunes from artists you know and love performed by the talented Perth Symphony Orchestra.

“We are proud to bring an event of this calibre to our community free of charge.

“Aussie Rock with Perth Symphony Orchestra will attract thousands of people to experience what the Morley Town Centre has to offer, which can only be a good thing for surrounding businesses. I encourage you to support our local restaurants by dining out in Morley before the event kicks off at 7pm.”

The City encourages attendees to walk, ride or catch public transport, as limited parking will be available at Pat O’Hara Reserve. There will be designated seating areas for picnic rugs and chairs.

Perth Symphony Orchestra CEO and Founder, Bourby Webster, said it was incredibly exciting for us to perform in the heart of the community of Bayswater in 2019.

"We were overwhelmed that several thousand people came. Seeing three generations of a family up on their feet dancing to an orchestra is honestly the most rewarding thing to see at a concert.”

More information on this event can be found on the City of Bayswater Facebook page.
