Adults over 50 will have the opportunity to brush up their technology skills starting next month, as part of the City of Bayswater’s Technology Uncovered program.

Funded by the Australian Government’s Be Connected initiative, the series of free four-week courses aim to help participants get started with basic computer skills, online safety, email, social media and offer one-on-one tech support.

City of Bayswater Deputy Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said with almost everything now available on the internet, it is essential we provide opportunities for everyone in our community to get online.

“These free courses will help participants master the basics and feel more confident navigating all kinds of websites and apps.

“Using the internet is an essential part of our every-day lives, so we’re working to make sure it’s easy for people in our community to make the most of this in a safe and useful way.

“Come along, learn something new and ask any questions you might have in these friendly, hands on sessions.”
