Applications open for City of Bayswater's Placemaking Seed Funding
Jul 17 2020

The City has released funding to support innovative community-led projects that contribute to the vibrancy of its four major town centres of Bayswater, Maylands, Morley and Noranda.

As part if the City's Placemaking Seed Funding, local groups or clubs will be eligible for $1000, $2000 or $3000 to get their project or event off the ground.

Applications can be made for an event, greening project, arts initiative, street furniture or any project that injects vibrancy into a public space.

Previous popular funded projects include Morley's Yellow Brick Road artwork project, Bayswater's Heritage Walking Tour, Morley's Multicultural Mural at Coventry Village and Noranda's Long Table Lunch.

Mayor Dan Bull said the fund was an excellent way for locals to get creative and connect with others in the community.

"This is a great opportunity for groups or clubs to create the public spaces or events they'd like to see in the local community," Cr Bull said.

"We are really looking forward to seeing some exciting projects come to life through this fund, a bit of community spirit after the tough times we've faced with COVID-19 will really go a long way.

"If your group or club has a great idea, we really encourage you to get involed and submit an application."

The Placemaking Seed Funding is available for each Town Centre; Bayswater, Maylands, Morley and Noranda.

Applications must be submitted by Friday, July 31 2020 via email to place.management@bayswater.wa.gov.au.
