City Libraries go online
Mar 26 2020

Members of the City of Bayswater’s three libraries will be able to access library services online, after facilities across the country temporarily close, in an effort to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said the City is working hard to offer as many regular services as possible, in alternative ways.

“While it is essential we close our libraries for the safety of our staff and community, this doesn’t have to mean an end to all of our library services.

“We’ve updated our website with links to all online services that members can now access free of charge – and non-members can also sign up online, by filling out a simple form.

“There’s movie streaming, audio and e-books, story time sessions, at home learning resources and school holiday activity inspiration. We’ll also be sharing weekly Saturday Storytime sessions on the City’s Facebook page for everyone in our community to enjoy.

“This is a very difficult time for everyone in our community, so it’s important we all try to look after our mental health. Staying stimulated and taking part in activities can be helpful for people of all ages, I’d really encourage everyone in our community to take advantage of our free services.”

To tune into Saturday Storytime visit facebook.com/bayswatercity at 10am on Saturdays.
