City teams with Vinnies WA to provide community assistance
May 15 2020

Redeployed City of Bayswater staff are helping to pack and distribute food hampers for the coming months, as part of partnership between the City of Bayswater and Vinnies WA.

Aimed at providing much-needed assistance to those experiencing hard times, particularly in the wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the hampers will be available to City of Bayswater residents in-need through the Vinnies Emergency Assistance program.

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said during recent months we have seen circumstances our community have never experienced before.

“The City of Bayswater is dedicated to providing support to those in our community who need it most, in any way we can.

“By partnering with Vinnies WA, we are able to make the most of their existing resources and expertise, to reach vulnerable people right across the City of Bayswater. Hardship can impact anyone, and we know that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) means there are more people feeling strain than ever before.

“I want to make it clear to everyone in our community, if you’re finding it hard to make ends meet – this is nothing to be ashamed of. If you, or someone you know need a helping hand, please reach out. We are here for you and we will help you in any way that we can.”

If you, or someone you know may benefit from receiving a food hamper during this difficult time please contact Vinnies WA on 1300 794 054, week days between 9am and 1pm.
