The winners of the City of Bayswater 2020 Art Awards were announced at a presentation evening on Saturday 31 October. The works are now on exhibition, and available to view and purchase at The RISE in Maylands until Saturday 14 November.
Members of the community also have the opportunity to decide the winner of this year's Community Bank Bayswater People’s Choice Award, by casting their vote for their favourite work at the exhibition.
City of Bayswater Mayor Cr Dan Bull said the talent that exists around Perth's inner east was truly outstanding, and had been well represented in this year's Art Awards.
"After such a challenging year, the 2020 City of Bayswater Community Art Awards are a true celebration of our community and the artistic talent that resides in the local area and beyond," said Cr Bull.
"This year's event particularly recognises the creative community who have come out in force to display their talents, with a record number of entrants this year and a calibre of work that is incredible to see.
"Receiving a record number of more than 400 submissions in this year's Community Art Awards is testament to the fact that culture and the arts can provide inspiration and bring us together, even during challenging times of uncertainty when we're apart.
"I'd like to congratulate this year's winners, as well as all entrants for submitting their work and sharing their artistic talent with us, and I also commend the many people behind the scenes who have worked so hard to bring this exhibition together.
"I highly encourage members of the community to visit The Art Awards Exhibition this month and enjoy the abundance of talent on display."
