Sporting clubs, community groups and individuals are invited to apply for up to $5,000 in funding, as part of round one of the City’s 2022/2023 Better Bayswater Grant funding.

Open from 1 to 30 September, the grant helps initiatives seeking to improve community wellbeing or address social issues get off the ground.

The City will contribute up to half the funds required for eligible projects taking place within six months. Applicants can match the City’s contribution with cash, in-kind or a combination of both.

One of the worthy projects funded under the grant earlier this year includes 55 Central’s Grow&Grind social enterprise, which provides barista training and employment opportunities to up to 30 participants from disadvantaged backgrounds. Grant funding helped 55 Central buy coffee beans and milk for barista training, signage and a canopy for their coffee van.
