The City of Bayswater would like to congratulate Kay Forest, winner of our City’s Plastic Free July Challenge.

As part of the competition, residents were invited to send through their plastic swaps to win Enviro House $100 and $50 vouchers. Kay shared simple yet innovative ideas using repurposed glass jars and produce bags, along with reusable travel cutlery and make-up pads.

Kay started her eco-friendly journey July last year and said her approach to sustainability is to take small steps.

“You don’t need to do everything all at once, start by taking slow, sustainable baby steps, that's the way to go.”

Kay said she enjoyed participating in the City’s Plastic Free July Challenge because she saw what other residents do to reduce plastic waste, motivating her to try new sustainable practices as she moves towards a more plastic free life.

Residents were encouraged to direct message their plastic swap ideas and pictures through social media and email.

Thank you to all who entered our Plastic Free July Challenge and for contributing towards a more sustainable Bayswater.

The City is a proud sponsor of Enviro House which aims to educate residents on recycling by running sustainability workshops and selling eco-friendly products.
