The City’s new skate and BMX facility is on track to open in spring, with a range of elements now in, and further progress made on construction of the skate bowls.

During the past two weeks, the quarter pipe has been completed, and progress on the bowls is underway with the 5.5-7.5 foot bowl transitions installed and ground cleared ready for the 6 foot horseshoe bowl.

Build of the bank hip and bank to the quarter pipe hip and platform will be underway in August now that earthworks have all been finished.

Within the next two weeks, works will begin on the BMX jumps and the bank to the quarter pipe hip and horseshoe bowl will be formed and poured.

Subject to weather, the project is on track to be completed in September 2022.

The new $2.5 million development is funded by the State Government.

The popular existing community facility based at Wotton Reserve, Embleton, is being relocated within the reserve to make way for the future Morley train station multi-storey car park.
