Community Planting Days help preserve natural biodiversity in the City.

City and Friends prepare to green Bayswater this winter
Jun 10 2022

The City of Bayswater and community volunteer groups will again team up to revegetate our natural areas this winter planting season.

Around 30,000 native seedlings will be planted along the river foreshore and in bushland areas to create habitat for frogs, birds and other wildlife.

Each year, the City works with local 'Friends of' groups to protect and enhance our natural areas.

Community Planting Days will take place throughout June, July and August at Lake Bungana, Maylands Samphires (Clarkson Reserve), McPherson Reserve, Gobba Lake, Baigup Wetlands, Eric Singleton Bird Sanctuary, Berringa Park Wetlands, Arbor Park, Claughton Reserve, Brickworks Lane, Lightning Swamp Bushland and Bardon Park.

Community members are encouraged to come along and take part in a Community Planting Day. Trowels, gloves and morning tea are provided.

Full details are available by visiting the City's Community Planting Days webpage or Facebook.
