Grants give local businesses a boost
May 19 2022

The City of Bayswater is offering grant funding to help support local businesses as part of its Business Boosters program.

Grants of up to $3,000 are available to deliver shopfront improvement projects that attract customers into their stores and encourage visitors to linger longer.

Projects may include creating an inviting shopfront entrance or enticing window display, using footpaths to engage potential customers, enhancing the store’s customer experience or spreading generosity through complimentary facilities or services.

The City launched the Business Boosters program in 2020 under its Economic Recovery Plan, which aimed to encourage new investment in the City and support local businesses on their road to recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of the program, the City ran a Business Booster Breakfast facilitated by Creative Communities director, David Engwicht and conducted group business audits and one-to-one onsite meetings with business owners.

Grant funding is the second component of the Business Boosters program, which will assist businesses in implementing their own shopfront projects.

Small business owners are encouraged to submit project ideas based on the Business Boosters program guidelines. Businesses are required to contribute up to one third of the project cost.

Applications close 5pm, Wednesday 8 June 2022.
