In celebration of National Recycling Week, City of Bayswater will be hosting a series of free activities and workshops for local residents of all ages from Monday 7 November to Saturday 12 November 2022.
Seven events will be hosted across the City’s Bayswater, Maylands and Morley libraries to inspire waste minimisation ideas for everyday life.
Residents can learn how to dress more sustainably, make jewellery from recycled materials, learn tips to improve recycling habits and attend a workshop about modern cloth nappies.
The City has also partnered with Cleanaway to help educate young children about the importance of recycling through the Rubbish Truck Storytime events.
The free events complement the City's ongoing commitment to waste minimisation through supporting behaviour change in the community.
Through the early implementation of FOGO and regular recycling initiatives, the City is well placed to meet the State Government’s Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030 targets to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill; and recover, reuse and recycle more household waste.
